QR Code Fácil already had a market and users, but it didn't have a product: the PHP tool generated the code and stopped there. Razzo rewrote the platform from scratch and turned occasional free usage into a SaaS with subscriptions, analytics and recurring revenue.

The Challenge

QR Code Fácil was already operating in the market with a PHP tool for generating QR Codes. The system handled one-off creation requests — the user came in, generated the code and left — but the legacy architecture carried significant bottlenecks that blocked both growth and monetization.

The code was generated and the relationship with the user ended right there. No subscription, no metrics, no product.

Commercial limitation. The old system had no native support for recurring billing, automated subscription management or any distinction between free and paid plans. There was no way to charge for usage that was already happening every day.

Technology bottlenecks. The infrastructure was rigid and outdated, unable to absorb traffic spikes or process large volumes of tracking data in real time.

User experience. The rigid interface made advanced customization difficult and offered no intuitive path to performance metrics — exactly what sustains a paid plan.

What we did

Working side by side with the founders, we redesigned the entire platform: away from an old, outdated model and into a modern, scalable and profitable SaaS.

  1. Architecture restructuring and migration

We fully replaced the legacy PHP code with a modern architecture, built for high availability and able to sustain many simultaneous requests without degrading the experience of whoever is generating a code.

  2. SaaS transformation and subscription management

We implemented the recurring payments infrastructure, automated plan management and dynamic control of permissions and features per subscription — every feature unlocked according to the plan, with no manual intervention.

  3. Innovation in QR Code features

Dynamic QR Codes brought the flexibility to change a code's destination or link without reprinting the physical material. And the visual customization engine made it possible to add logos, personalize colors and insert frames with a call to action (CTA), right in the interface.

  4. Advanced analytics

We delivered a complete metrics dashboard, with real-time scan readings, geographic data and device types — the layer that turns a printed QR Code into a measurable marketing channel.

The result

With the new platform, the company could finally sell its solution to other businesses and people, building an active user base and reaching notable milestones. The system remains functional and high-performing to this day:

  • More than 1,000,000 QR Codes generatedThe platform passed the mark of 1 million QR Codes created since launch.
  • A consolidated SaaS modelA successful transition from occasional, free usage to a profitable operation based on recurring revenue (MRR).
  • High availability and stabilityThe platform has been running continuously and without interruption since 2021, giving the client operational predictability and technical stability.

QR Code Fácil is live and can be used right now — the most direct way to see the product is to generate a code.

Why this case matters

Rewriting a legacy system isn't swapping the language: it's unlocking the business model the old architecture wouldn't allow to exist.

QR Code Fácil didn't come to us with an isolated technical problem. It came with a ceiling: the product worked, demand was real, and still it couldn't charge, scale or measure. Each of those three blocks was tied to the same codebase.

That's why the rewrite came together with the model shift — subscriptions, plans, permissions and analytics were designed as part of the new architecture, not as a patch over the old one. The proof that the call was right is time: the platform has run without interruption since 2021 and keeps evolving.

A legacy system rarely costs you for what it does. It costs you for what it prevents.
